Car VS. Kitchen
I’m always amazed how reluctant clients are to spend money on a new kitchen, but are always willing to drop a good bit of change on a new car! Now, I realize, and am the first to admit, that cars are fun, cool and provide instant gratification. They don’t uproot your life for several weeks during an uncomfortable and invasive process like a home remodel.
What I don’t understand, is why it’s okay to spend $50,000-$100,00 on an item that depreciates in value a nanosecond after your sign your name on the dotted line, but it’s a struggle to justify spending the same amount on upgrading your living space that actually increases the value of your home!
Not only that, consider how much time you spend in the car versus the time spent in your kitchen…with your family and friends…MAKING MEMORIES! A space that increases your quality of life on a daily basis never seems to be as important as the momentary thrills you might get driving down the road (more than likely, by yourself!) tempting fate?!
If you’ve been reluctant to take on a major remodel, just take a moment and ask yourself…what’s more important at this point in my life? Cars can be purchased easily and quickly, as I mentioned above, now how long are you really willing to wait to create a beautiful space to raise your family and make those memories?
